Readers, you know we've always got your back. So when we're lucky enough to be in a room full of celebs, we quiz them for all the goss. At Radio 1's Teen Awards we decided to ask EVERYONE to give us the low-down of the best pop music of 2016 and what we should look out for next year. Ya welcome guys.
Favourite Pop Star of 2016
Greg James: Dua Lipa. She’s a real breakthrough star. She’s gonna be a big name in a year’s time.
Fleur East: Ariana Grande. I looove her album. Into you is definitely one of my fave songs of the whole year.
Scott Mills: Justin Bieber. In terms of the whole package of what I think is a good pop star: he nails it. Sometimes he goes a little off track, but I quite like that in a pop star. It keeps it interesting. I don’t want pop stars to be bland.
Chris Stark: I’m kind of obsessed with Chainsmokers.
Rylan Clark-Neal: I really like Becky Hill. She doesn’t get the credit she deserves. She is so talented and her solo stuff is brilliant.
Matt Edmondson: Little Mix. I love their new single, I can’t get it out of my head.
Favourite pop song of 2016
Greg James: Sigala with John Newman – Give Me Your Love. It’s brilliant.
Jamie Laing: I like that new NEIKED – Sexual. It’s bad-ass. If you listen to that in the morning you slink right out of bed. You feel great.
Jess Glynne: Can’t stop the Feeling – Justin Timberlake.
Pop star to look out for next year
Fleur East: Izzy Bizu. When I started on the circuit, I performed at a little show in London and she was there so it’s been really nice to see her progress. I listened to her album a couple of weeks ago and it sounds amazing.
Scott Mills: DNCE – I think they’ve got more to give. There’s a danger that they could have just that one massive hit., but I know that they will have really good songs, and they’re amazing performers.
Rylan Clark-Neal: James Arthur is gonna come back with a bang.
Matt Edmondson: I think winner or no winner, Honey G may release some music that will change the charts forever.
