Exclusive interview with the (hot) star of Wizards vs. Aliens – Scott Haran

There's a brand new show starting on CBBC THIS VERY EVENING, which you should totally be tuning into. And if you don't believe us, maybe you'll believe the (fit) star of it – Scott Haran.

Why should we watch Wizards and Aliens? What’s so good about it?

It’s got magic, it’s got aliens, it’s got explosions, it’s got drama – all the ingredients to make a great show! I think it’s quite fresh and I don’t think it’s something we’ve seen before.

Are the aliens scary?

Yes they are! They’re massive! They’re just a massive giant tentacle with big body armour and deep voices. And they’re actually quite rough, they man handle you. So they are quite scary. But on set when they talk normally you can relax a little bit, because you remember they’re not real.

Who do you wish would get abducted by aliens?

My brother! For waking me up so early this morning. He came into my room at seven o’clock this morning wearing all my clothes – so because of that he needs to get abducted by aliens.

How much of a geek are you? Were you ever into sci-fi?

I wouldn’t say I was a sci-fi geek to be honest. But this job has made me much more of a sci-fi fan! I’ve started watching Doctor Who and Torchwood and things like that.

On a scale of 1-10, how geeky would you say that you are now?

Haha! I would say, and it’s not because I think I’m really cool or anything, I would say that I’m 4/10! You can’t be too cool or it gets boring, right?

What’s the most embarrassing thing to happen to you on set?

We had this scene with a football team and it was a cold, horrible day and it was raining, and I had to wear one of those plastic rain caps on my hair. I had to go and meet them for the first time like that, with one of those, a big jacket and an umbrella, and they all just had absolutely nothing! I just looked like a massive girl!
