Selena Gomez named Woman of the Year 2012!

Selena Gomez has beaten every other woman on the planet to become US Glamour magazine's Woman of the Year 2012. Now that's impressive.

So how about we have a think about what may have landed her the gong?

At only 20 years old, S-Gom (yes, we just called her that, deal with it) has a sparkling music and acting career, with more awards and gongs than any fireplace could handle.

But she's not happy to leave things at that, and is now also dabbling in producing, taking the role of Executive Producer of next year's Wizards of Waverly Place reunion show. (Which we're ridiculously excited about, just FYI.)

And she's not stopping there either, because it's the work that Selena's done with UNICEF'S 2012 Tap Project, to bring clean and accessible water to children around the world which really stood out to the judges... editors... panel... (we don't actually know who decides these things.)

So all in all, a pretty impressive CV, and a very worthy winner.

And it's not just them and us who've noticed how downright brilliant Selena is. Her best pal, Taylor Swift (no biggy) chipped in too:

"She's giving back to people who need help, because of her own life experience. She's the exception to so many rules."

All together now – "awwwwwwww".

We just hope Justin Bieber is one proud boyfriend, will never let her go, keep her on his arm (girl), she'll never be alone, etc.
